Hello, my name is Brittany Shieh and I am a current freshman at the University of Washington. This "portfolio" that you are looking at is part of a project in my General Studies 199 class. What is this class? Well, you can say it's a class that occurs once a week for freshman who are part of a freshman interest group. It only happens during fall quarter and it's a way for freshman to settle in and become "one with the UW." Basically, it's a class meant for freshman to get to know UW and its resources and meet some cool people on the way, like our awesome upperclassman FIG leader, Crystal Pyrak. :) The classes that comprise my FIG are ART History 201 and Chemistry 142. The General Studies 199 class is a 2 credit class and the art history and chemistry courses are 5 credits each. I am also taking a side class, math 124, so I am taking a grand total of 17 credits this quarter.
