Experience

Private Piano Instructor, Spring 1998-Present

I began my private piano studio in 1998 with two students who happened to be sisters. I was referred through an acquaintance at the UW School of Music. My studio continued to build through word of mouth. At present, I teach 13 students, each with a one hour lesson a week. We also hold quarterly piano recitals at my apartment where the students who so desire can showcase their progress to friends and family.

Camp Instructor, Summer 2001, Summer 2002
Mount Olympus Arts Festival

The Mount Olympus Arts Festival is held in Olyanna, Minnesota, and lasts for 12 weeks. When it was in session, I was responsible for 10 youth campers each week for 10 weeks, with two weeks spaced inbetween for breathing room. Their age ranged from 11 to 15 years. During the week, I taught photography courses for seven students and also a general art skills class to those students who had other arts as their primary focus. I also helped plan and execute special exhibits, working with my fellow camp counselors on such events as Art in the Afternoon and Photoscapes.

Administrative Assistant, Spring 1998-Spring 2001
PEMCO, Mt. Harken, OH

I started working for PEMCO when I was 17. My supervisor also happened to be a distant relative of mine, meaning I worked harder than I ever have before. They started by training me in computer skills (such as creating and maintainig Access databases) and also taught me how to create and maintain web pages. I had previous experience working in administrative capacities because I had helped my father in his law office for many years previous. Thus answering 8 phone lines was not a problem.
