Strong writing and analytic skills

I have taught writing skills to elementary school children for four years. I have also taken many upper level music history and communication classes requiring me to show synthesis of many concepts in a fully realized essay. I have attached two examples of my work below.

This first example was written in a music history class titled "Italian Opera and Society." I wrote my final paper on the opera Aida, dealing with the subject of Verdi's objectification of the exotic and its impact on Aida's relationship with her captors.

This second example was written in a class title "Gender and Opera." I wrote my final research paper on the opera Salome, by Richard Strauss. In my paper I examined the relationship (both musical and textual) between Jochanaan, the captive prophet, and the princess Salome, drawing conclusions as to which gender triumphs over the other and why.

Extensive performance and teaching experience

My time up on stage has given me many tools to use in real life. For instance, I deal very well with nerves, and have learned over the years how to overcome them to give my performances. I have taught these skills to my students. I have also learned how to make contacts within the music community, both for my performance career and my teaching career. I believe all these skills will continue to be useful in my life no matter what I end up doing.
