Autumn Quarter
My F.I.G. Classes
I've taken up a F.I.G. my very first quarter of college because it's a great opportunity to meet new people who are in the same classes as me. Not only do we share something in common but also it gives me the sense of a much more close nit community.

Sociology 212 Evolution and Revolution: An Introduction to the Study of Comparative Social Change
Professor S. Pfaff
Teacher Assistant Y. Chiang

To be honest I had no anticipations for this class because I had no idea what sociology 212 was about, until I took the class. The class basically depicts a society and analyzes it at every angle, such as inequalities, stratifications, polity, gender roles, religion, technology, and norms. I have taken an interest in this class and I want to learn if modern day agrarian societies use pre-agrarian techniques in everyday life, and if so how and what do they do to apply such techniques.

English 198 Interdisciplinary Writing/Social Science
Professor L. Dozier

When I first thought about taking up English 198, my first thought is, "Whoa! That is a high English class, and I suck in English." But to tell you the truth, I'm very surprise about it because the class is a regular composition class that focuses mainly on Sociology 212. This class really improves my writing and helps me get a better understanding of Soc 212. In this class I just want to write better because I have a lot of technical difficulties writing.

GEN ST 199 The University Community
Teacher V. Bloch

General Studies 199 is the perk of all F.I.G. groups because it's where anyone can get a better understanding how U-Dub works from an experienced U-Dub student. My F.I.G. leader is very understanding and wants us to meet all the requirements to pass our class and emphasizes what we have to do. To make things so much easier we try to plan to do everything together as a F.I.G., but unfortunately someone is always busy with work or has an appointment.

Outside of My F.I.G. Classes
Chemistry 110
Professor: P. Rathod
Teacher Assistant: S. Price

I'm taking Chemistry 110 my first quarter because I never taken Chemistry in high school. I thought to myself that this would be a good opportunity to get the basic fundamental understanding of what chemistry is all about, then from there go on to a higher chemistry. So far in Chemistry, I've learned the basics just to understand how to balance a chemical equations. I hope that I learn enough to help me get through Chem. 142.

Winter Quarter
My goal in the quarter is to focus a little on my pre-requisites for medical school and to find a subject that could potentially become my major.

Anthropology 100
I'm taking anthropology because my counselor said that it would be a class that I might be interested in and could potentially become my major since my status as of right now is a pre-major.

Asian American Studies 380
Being an Asian American myself, I would like to understand my culture in a different perspective from an Asian immigrant. Furthermore it gives me another opportunity to see if this could become my potential major.

Chemistry 142
From what I have heard about this class, I'm particularly feeling terrified knowing the tediousness of the class. Unfortunately it contributes to my aspiration of attending medical school in the near future. So it is inevitable to overlook this class.

Earth and Space Sciences 100
I'm taking Dinosaurs because I need a fun class to take since all of the other classes seem to be strenuous. Also it is a perfect opportunity for me to meet other people with eccentric tastes such as me self.
